Who is the Holy Spirit?

Imagine having Jesus right by your side when you wake up tomorrow morning. He’s right there in your bedroom, waiting for you to ask him anything you want, waiting to teach you everything you want to know and show you how to do all you want to do during the day. Too good to be true? Well, that is exactly who the Holy Spirit is; He’s Jesus on the Earth today, and He’s not just with us, He’s in us!

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Ezekiel 36:27 KJV

God never called us to live the Christian life alone! In fact, Jesus warned His disciples not to! (Acts 1:4) Christianity is only hard when you don’t let the Helper in to help you. Jesus told his disciples right before leaving:

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 KJV

Imagine having Jesus right by your side when you wake up tomorrow morning. He’s right there in your bedroom, waiting for you to ask him anything you want, waiting to teach you everything you

Why did he come?

Well in simple terms, the Holy Spirit is here to be our comforter. The Holy Spirit is God on the earth. He came to show the world who Jesus is: to show us The Way, The Truth, and The Life. He is here to show you how to live out the Life of God in you once you are born again, to take you by the hand and lead you along the narrow path, strengthening you with every step!

The word comforter in the second scripture above is translated into 6 meanings:

  1. Counselor
  2. Helper
  3. Intercessor
  4. Advocate
  5. Strengthener
  6. Standby

Imagine yourself having someone to be all these to you. Well, now you do! Do you want to know how to live True Life to the fullest, enjoying the fullness of Life, being all you were made to be, living out each day pleasing your Father in Heaven, and blessing the world? The Holy Spirit is here to show you just how! All you have to do is to receive Him into you like you would stretch forth your hand and take your Christmas gift. Say to Him:

Dear Holy Spirit, I recognize that you are the Spirit of Jesus and I receive you into my life now. Thank you for making my heart your home. In Jesus’ Name. Amen. If you said this prayer, meaning it with all of your heart, then Congratulations! God just came to set up His home in your heart. And He will never leave! Ever!
