THE SOLUTION TO WORLD PROBLEMS (PART 2)
We live in a world plagued with more problems than the ones that hit the Egyptians in the bible. Problems of poverty, health, depression, of disputes between nations, marital problems, and so many more abound. All these problems are offsprings of sin. Sin is usually described as anything that displeases God. Well, it is true that sin displeases him, but the issue is much more than merely arousing displeasure. Sin is an inherent nature! Think of it. Nobody needs to teach a child to lie, fight or misbehave. Children just do those things because of their innateness in the human heart. But thankfully, even though the world’s problems seem more complex than Mathematics, there is a solution, a definite solution: God’s solution. And that is the word of God.
“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 AMP).
In our world today, there are so many organizations and individuals that are doing well in their efforts to solve world problems. But those efforts cannot compare to what the word of God can do. The word of God is active and effective enough to be the solution to any problem. Jesus in John 6:63 was speaking in the Synagogue in Capernaum and said, “The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.” (John 6:63 MSG). A few verses after that, Peter said that Jesus had the words of life. The words of vitality, energy, and solution. That’s what God’s word is; it gives life to dead situations. Jesus is the word tabernacled in flesh(John 1:14), and that word of life is the light of men living in a dark world.
“In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].” (John 1:4-5 AMP).
Light, here, speaks of definition. When there is darkness in a conference room, it is impossible to see its components. But once the light is turned on, the chairs, tables, and projectors are all clearly defined. “ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light, has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! (Isaiah 60:1 AMP).
There may be dark situations in your life or environment. But the same God who called light out of the darkness in the genesis of creation has made his living and effective word available to you.
It’s up to you to make use of that powerful gift. So get to the word of God, and ponder on it, because that is the solution to every problem in your world.
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”(Joshua 1:8 NLT).
