THE SOLUTION TO WORLD PROBLEMS (PART 1)
Once upon a time, God formed man out of the dust of the earth. He blew the breath of life into his body, and man became a living soul. Then God gave him a home, in the Garden of Eden. God also gave him a job: to keep the Garden of Eden in order Man’s only restriction was: “Do not eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil”. God blessed man so that he would be fruitful and multiply. The man was so fruitful, that he gave names to all the creatures on the earth. However, he could not multiply because he was alone. God saw that for man to go to the next level, he had to get creative. God, therefore, put a man to sleep. He then formed a new creature with one of man’s ribs, and surprised him with a new companion – a woman!
If this were a fairy tale, they would have lived “happily ever after”. But it was not so. In this story, the idyllic start was actually a prelude to a heart-wrenching series. One day, the devil, nicknamed “the ancient serpent”, deceived women into eating the fruit which God had forbidden them from eating. She gave the fruit to the man, and he ate. As soon as men ate, they saw that they were naked. The man and woman were naked since they were created. But their fellowship with God was so strong that they did not realize it. The departure of this glory, on eating the fruit, revealed their nakedness to them. In the garden existed the tree of life which would have taken man to a whole new level. But, by disobeying God, to obey the devil, man lost the nature of God and took on that of the devil. That nature is the nature of sin. The nature of sin exuded death, robbing a man of his immortality, his fellowship with God, and his true identity.
Fast forward to the twenty-first century, and the earth is subject to the deadly nature of the devil. Thorns and thistles have grown from the ground. Mosquitoes suck blood instead of nectar with their proboscis. The sun keeps getting hotter, and we’ve had wars all over.“For the creation (nature) was subjected to frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it–[yet] with the hope (Romans 8:20 AMP).
The scripture clearly shows what man’s actions did. He gave creation over to vanity, weakness, confusion, darkness, and death. The reason for this was that man was put in charge of God’s creation, he was the steward. But, this fruitful steward gave the affairs of his property to a corrupted being, the devil.
Just imagine God as a landlord, who built a house and handed over the house keys to man. The man went on to hand over the keys to the devil. That’s why the Bible calls him the “god of this world”. “For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4 AMP).
The word used for ‘world’ in Greek is ‘aiōn’, which means age or period of time. The verse tells us that for this current season, the devil is free to indulge himself in causing episodes of chaos. In addition to that, he has blinded the minds of unbelieving people. That’s why it’s so important to become born again! Jesus in John 3:3 said, “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3 AMP).
It doesn’t matter your level of education, whether you’re a doctor, professor, or professor emeritus. So long as you’re not born anew by the word and spirit of God, your mind is blinded to the kingdom of God.
You can only perceive the things of God if you have the nature of God, and that’s what getting born again does for you. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13 KJV). Isn’t that beautiful? Believe in him, and you’ll become his child. You take on his nature and experience dominion over the devil and his destructive nature of sin.
“With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. A new power is in operation. The Spirit of life in Christ, like a strong wind, has magnificently cleared the air, freeing you from a fated lifetime of brutal tyranny at the hands of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2 MSG)
